SalesMapper is an iPhone app that door-to-door sales companies use to record which homes their team has visited. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. SalesMapper is operated from Canada, and we handle personal information in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
The sales company that uses SalesMapper (“your company”) decides what its team records, and it controls its own records. We store and process those records on the company’s behalf. Each company’s data is kept separate from every other company’s.
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Your phone number | To sign you in with a texted code, and so a company can invite you. |
| Your name | Shown to your team on the markers and knocks you log. |
| Your company role and team | To decide what you can see and do (owner, manager or rep). |
| Location | When you place a pin, its location is saved as the home’s position. During a shift you start, the app keeps your location on your phone so a lock-screen tap can drop a pin where you’re standing and show the street address. Your route between pins is not recorded or uploaded. Location is used only while the app is open or a shift is on, and stops when the shift ends. |
| Homes and visits | The records your team creates: addresses, marker types (for example Sale, Not home), visit times, notes, sale amounts and services, and any homeowner contact details your company chooses to enter. |
| Device and service information | A device name for your sign-in session, network address (to limit sign-in attempts and prevent abuse), and server logs of requests. We do not log the content you send. |
We do not sell personal information, we do not use it for advertising, and the app contains no advertising or third-party tracking.
Records about a home (its address, what happened at the door, and any notes or contact details) are entered by the company’s team. A homeowner who wants their information corrected or removed can ask the company that visited them, or contact us and we will pass the request to that company and help them act on it.
These providers process information only to provide their service to us. Some may process data outside Canada, under their own safeguards.
Your company’s records are kept while it uses SalesMapper, and deleted on request when the company leaves. Sign-in sessions end after 90 days without use. Logs are kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.
All traffic is encrypted. Each company’s data is isolated in the database, and sign-in sessions can be ended immediately. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected people as required by law if a breach occurs.
SalesMapper is a business tool and is not intended for children under 16.
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell users in the app for significant changes.
